FAMILY HISTORY AND GENEALOGY PROGRAMS: The IHS offers a wide range of educational opportunities throughout the year, from basic genealogy workshops to lectures featuring regional and national family history experts. FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH: The Indiana Historical Society Collections include an abundance of unique resources that can be of assistance to family history researchers. The resources are available at the William Henry Smith Memorial Library and through its Web pages, accessible at http://www.indianahistory.org/library/. The library’s vast collection of manuscripts, visual materials, and rare published volumes help create a clearer image and understanding of the time in which your ancestors lived. Maps, on-site genealogy databases, Civil War diaries, club and organizational records, and personal papers are among the many treasures that may help in illuminating the past. |
