With the help of the Indiana Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, the Indiana Historical Society is presenting the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration and Conference, which includes free performances, exhibits and activities as well as a conference Aug. 8 and 9.

Free Events and Activities
Friday, August 8

11:30 a.m.
President-Elect Lincoln Visits Indiana
Indiana Statehouse (west entrance)
Re-enactment of Lincoln’s February 1861 speech featuring noted Lincoln interpreter Fritz Klein and the Red Bank ReUnion Band.

1 to 4 p.m.
Lincoln Bicentennial Family Celebration
Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center
and Canal Plaza
Activities include crafts, The Faces of Lincoln and Freedom: A History of US traveling exhibitions, a self-guided Lincoln walking tour and more music by the Red Bank ReUnion Band.
